July 18-19: Odessa Full Moon Paddle and Campout (cancelled)
August 9: Pelican Paddle (Elizabeth's Farewell Paddle)
September 6: Louisa County River Paddle
September 13: Moonlight Paddle (Mississippi River)

Earth Day Paddle

When: Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 5:30 pm
Where: Indian Slough Wildlife Area
How to register: Use online registration form or call 319-523-8381
Cost: $10/person for canoe or $15/person for single kayak; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: See the wildlife and habitat of this Iowa River floodplain wetland from your canoe or kayak. Local naturalists will lead this 1 1/2 to 2 hour trip. Put-in and take-out will be from the Main Access. A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available from the Louisa County Conservation Board - register early to get yours reserved! Mothers Day on the Marsh

When: Sunday, May 11, 2008, 10:00 am - CANCELLED due to weather conditions
Where: Cone Marsh Wildlife Management Area
How to register: Use online registration form or call 319-523-8381
Cost: $10/person for canoe or $15/person for single kayak; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: Come see the mothers on Cone Marsh - ducks, geese, blackbirds, swallows and more will all be busy preparing nests for their spring broods. This small marsh provides a perfect opportunity to get a close look at the birds and other wildlife. Local naturalists (mother and daughter, of course) will lead this 1 1/2 to 2 hour trip. Put-in and take-out will be from the access on 220th Ave. A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available from the Louisa County Conservation Board - register early to get yours reserved! Odessa Water Trail Launch Paddle

When: Saturday, June 21, 2008 (POSTPONED - date TBA)
Where: Odessa Water Trail
How to register& costs: see OWT Launch site
What: Help us celebrate the launch of the first full season of paddling on the Odessa Water Trail AND support water trails in the area at our first fundraising event. The day includes a ribbon cutting, prizes and guided trips from one hour to all day.

I PADDLED the IOWA

When: Saturday, June 28, 2008 (POSTPONED - date TBA)
Where: Iowa River, Freb T. Schwob Landing (Wapello) to Ferry Landing

Pelican Paddle

When: Saturday, August 9, 2008, 9 am - Noon
Where: Odessa Water Trail, Sand Run Access
How to register: Use online registration form or call 319-523-8381 by August 6
Cost: $10/person for canoe or $15/person for single kayak*; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: Join local naturalists for a guided trip on the Odessa Water Trail. Put-in and take-out will be from the Sand Run Access. A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available from the Louisa County Conservation Board - register early to get yours reserved!

Louisa County River Paddle

When: Saturday, September 6, 2008, 8:30 am - 2 pm
Where: Iowa River, Fredonia - Wapello
How to register: Use online registration form or call 319-523-8381
Cost: $20/ canoe or $15/person for single kayak; plus $5/person for shuttle. No fee if you have your own boat unless you want a shuttle. You only need to pay for the people who ride in the shuttle. If you drop people off at the start point, they don't need to pay.
What: Join us for a leisurely float down the Iowa River. A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available from the Louisa County Conservation Board. Seats in the shuttle bus are also limited so register early!
